“I want a heavenly host of angels!” — that was the brief that kicked off this celestial design journey. Working with Sarah is always a joy. She gives me the creative freedom to interpret her concepts in unexpected and unconventional ways, and this project was no exception.
Rather than depict a literal choir of angels, I approached the idea from a more abstract starting point. Using Rhino and Grasshopper, my architecture tools of choice, I developed a parametric system to generate a modular grid of spheres, each emitting rays from its center like stylized stars. These stars
By navigating through this 3D environment, I discovered serendipitous alignments and emergent compositions. From certain vantage points, the spatial relationships between these forms created rhythmic visual harmonies, celestial patterns that evoke the ordained symmetry of an all powerful creator.
The result is a graphic language that feels otherworldly and kinetic, full of movement and implied depth, while still grounded in the digital precision of parametric design. It’s a host of angels, but re-imagined through the lens of generative form-making and spatial abstraction.
